#MotivationMonday- Deepa Malik


As we always strugle on Mondays,  thought to motivate and inspire you a bit.

Deepa Malik the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games, is also an avid biker and adventurer.

Deepa Malik (born 30 September 1970) is an Indian athlete.

In 1999 she was diagnosed with a spinal tumor. After undergoing three surgeries, she was left paralyzed from waist down. She is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games and won a Silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics . She has also won gold in F-53/54 Javelin event at the para athletic grand Prix held in Dubai in 2018. She is currently the world number one in the F-53 category. She has won in various adventure sports. She holds the distinction of being the first physically challenged person to get a Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India license. In associated with Himalayan Motorsports Association (H.M.A.) and Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (F.M.S.C.I.) she has undertaken an 8-day, 1700-km drive in sub-zero temperatures which included a climb to 18000 feet. It was – Raid de Himalaya. This journey covers many difficult paths including remote Himalayas, Leh, Shimla and Jammu. Raid De Himalaya is a motorsport started in 1999. It is the world's highest rally raid. https://www.xraid.in/ In 2016, Deepa won a silver medal at the Paralympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro and another silver medal at IPC Paralympic games held at Christchurch, New Zealand.
