Ride test 2019 Indian Scout Bobber
Last year I've rode test for a first time ever since I've started riding, a bobber, a motorcycle with this type of riding position, totally different compared with sport/naked motorcycle that I've owned until now.
I didn't had nothing to compare it with so this year I've done my homework, and after I've rode tested another bobber, I'm ready to really ride test this icon!
2019 Indian Scout Bobber
As you've noticed, I'm into basics, not a lot of electronics and gadgets on the motorbikes that I'm picking- digital tachometer, odometer, trip meter, engine temp, ABS and low fuel lamp .
The Scout is a straight forward motorcycle with 1133 CC/69 cubic inches liquid cooled V-Twin engine, with 100HP. You definitely feel this power in all range and also is so well balanced that you can't feel the vibrations in your handlebars. Your mirrors aren't even moving because of the vibrations!
With a seat heigh of 649mm, it's tracker handlebars and footpegs moved 38mm rearwards, Scout Bobber delivers a much better riding position and has a fuel tank capacity of 12.5L .
The motorcycle is easy to customize to fit your personal preferences using Indian’s extensive range of accessories, handlebars, seats, and foot controls. Various luggage options, including a gas-tank pouch, saddlebags, and a solo rack bag, are also available.
I was riding it on the B roads and eventhough the motorcycle has 251 kg, is well balanced and was fun riding it and to lean it around bends. I've taken the motorcycle on the motorway too and I can tell you that, you can really feel that hardly tamed horsepower.
Another amazing thing that Indian Motorcycles is doing is that maintenance wise, even when you have the motorcycle in warranty, if you buy original Indian Motorcycles parts, you can do the maintenance yourself, without losing the warranty. If you want to take the motorcycle to the shop, the costs of a normal service( you need to do it every 5000 miles or once per year, is up to you how you are negotiating the warranty) are around £200-£250, which in my opinion is a good price.
The only inconviniences that I've found are the rear shock absorber which is a bit stiff, as has a inch shorter travel distance than the Indian Scout and the seat isn't that comfortable and needs a bit of redesign as was hurting my inner thighs when I was stopping and I was foot down.
Comparing with other brands, same type of motorcycles this is a winner!
