Let's try something new... and a ride, of course!

Ok, finished with the 2-day riding, 828 miles. Had a good night rest but wake up with soaring hands but happy. On the 9th of August, one of my best lady friends of mine landed and visited me. She was "my birthday gift" from home. Sooo happy, birthday gifts: books about female riders and about a true love story between a biker that isn't among us anymore and his lady and dream catcher friendship bracelet (dream catcher meaning-native Americans believe that the night air is filled with dreams, both good and bad. When hung above the bed in a place where the morning sunlight can hit it, the dream catcher attracts and catches all sorts of dreams and thoughts into its webs. Good dreams pass through and gently slide down the feathers to comfort the sleeper below. Bad dreams, however, are caught up in its protective net and destroyed, burned up in the light of day.)

The rest of the day was chill, hanging around. On the 10th we had an idea: let's try something new! Seen a couple of months ago on the internet the ad about zip world- the biggest, fastest city zip wire in the world. ( https://www.zipworld.co.uk/adventure/detail/zip-world-london ) Done deal! Booked two tickets and we are off to central London. At the first look when you see the zip wire installation you say what is this, this is all? However, after the induction and health and safety, you are up. You have a harness, you are tied up and you need to make two steps outside the platform. At that moment you will be taking off from a height of 35 meters (100 feet), that’s more than 9 double decker buses! Annnndddd looked down, looked left on my friend and just feel how my feet just melt down but, I know that if I wait I will shout so let's ride!!!! Wooow...the feeling is great! You fly with 40mph and you have an emergency brake that stops you on the opposite platform.

We finish everything there and we head to drink a coffee. OK! Sun is up, is a nice day is around 12:30, so what can we do next? We are a little bit hype with adrenaline and we don't want to stay in the house today. Talking with Luna (my lady friend), I've remembered myself that two friends text me when I was in my crazy 2-day ride saying that we didn't see each other for a long time and we should meet for a ride!!! Sun, day off, lovely day and so what if my hands are still soaring and I'm a little bit tired: LET'S RIDE! Pick up the phone, called them and we will meet up around 2:30 PM. We geared up and is riding time!

Where to? I want to see the sea (yeah, yeah, I know... sea addict!) and to see a place that I have never seen so let's go and visit Hastings ( http://www.hastings-sussex.co.uk/ )- 73 miles, avoid motorways! Job done! The ride until there was nice, with a stop to fuel up and some pics, like usual :D!

In Hastings, we just walk along the sea front, stopped to eat something and around 5 PM we thought why not ride Hastings Pier- Brighton Pier, avoiding motorways as usual. Only 38 miles. ( https://www.visitbrighton.com/ )

Around 8 PM, I think, we were in Brighton, parked the bikes and now we were just walking down the pier and we were admiring the sunset.

Further down the pier, we've seen bumper cars! Of course that we put our helmets on and went 2 rounds. Everybody was watching us and wad fun!

OK, enough fun, let's start heading towards the bikes because it is late. It's getting a bit cold outside but it's bearable. 92 miles until home so we start our ride out. At the beginning, on A roads but it's getting colder so I put the GPS on motorway route and we continue. OK! At some point, around 11:20 we stop at a gas station! Was freezing cold! Only 8' and is August!!! OMG!!! We stopped thinking that we can buy some workers jacket/vest, something... But, instead, we just had a coffee and......drum roles pleaseeee...IS 12 o'clock! IS MY BIRTHDAY! I've started the celebration of my bday in a petrol station :)).

We didn't manage to move from there until 1 AM. Was too cold! Looking at the watch, knowing that in the morning I need to go to work...I want home! We geared up, we made jokes to buy newspapers to put them inside out motorcycle gear ( we didn't have the inner liner ZIPPED WITH US because AUGUSTTTTT!!!! SUMMERRRR!!! NOT!) needless to say that the GPS took us first until Croydon and we didn't want to ride all London and we went back on the motorway, splitting from the group, I made it! I was home, I was shivering, I was so cold! After a hot, hot shower I was still shivering! I was in my bed, managed to fall asleep and I hear a knock at the door! Wake up and opened the door, were my friends, surprising me and singing Happy Birthday! They split for me so that they can go and buy me flowers and a cake and a gift! Was so nice! But I was still shivering!

After only 2 hours of wanna be sleep, I wake up and find this, another surprise! One of my friends ( thanks, Mow&Ana) with who I live in the house, wanted me to have a nice start of my day because I will work on my bday.

Indeed, if I didn't do something worth remembering when I was 30...i made it now! Live your life, don't just exist!!!

And after the ride in the rain for a couple of days ago and the cold from that night, I've ordered boots, pants, gloves for winter and Goretex!!!!

Yours truly, Andreea xoxo
